I see adolescent and adult clients in the Plainfield and Oswego office in person and via telehealth. I specialize in working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, grief/loss, trauma, caregiver burnout, self-esteem issues, illness/end of life issues, and more. I have over 20 years of experience working in several settings including outpatient mental health clinics, hospitals, community resource agencies, and hospice/skilled care settings. I work with clients using a strengths based approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy models. The greatest joy I have as a therapist is helping clients make changes in their lives that can bring peace, contentment, resolution, and improve self-confidence.

Mental Health
I see children, adolescents and adults in the Plainfield and Oswego office and via telehealth. I provide individual, family and couples therapy. I have over 20 years of experience working with families undergoing trauma of divorce, domestic violence, loss of housing, and mental illness. I treat clients with depression and I have extensive experience working with children in Special Education in regards to Autism, Attention Deficient Hyperactive Disorder, social skills difficulties, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, anger, impulse control, and self-regulation. My approach is to meet where the client is and build a treatment plan based on what they or the family wants to work on. I feel it is important to establish rapport and build the trust as each session unfolds. I have guided individuals and families to learn new coping skills using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Zones of Regulation, play therapy, relaxation, and motivational interviewing.

Mental Health
I see children, adolescents and adults in the Plainfield and Oswego office in person and via telehealth. I am the president/owner of KCS Counseling. I utilize a client centered approach where I give unconditional positive regard to my clients in a non-judgmental therapeutic setting. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills that are evidence-based for treatment. I have over 20 years of experience working in community mental health, crisis services, public schools, a therapeutic day school and private practice. I have seen clients meet their treatment goals and develop positive coping skills to effectively manage their distressing symptoms. The greatest gift of therapy is the therapeutic alliance between the therapist and the client which elicits change and allows the client to use tools they learned for lifelong gains.
